What to do?? See Senator McCain or attend the Debate Watch??? BOTH

The day  -- Thursday night
The time -- 6:25 P.M. EST

Senator McCain held a town hall meeting at the VFW Post 4256 in Madeira Beach.  As he was there to show his support for Governor Romney, fellow intern Elizabeth and I attended the packed event.

Senator McCain was quite personable and witty; he made several jokes to lighten the atmosphere and engage the audience.

Naturally his speech was aimed towards veterans concentrating on the topic of national and international defense. He discussed why he supports Governor Romney and what the Governor will be able to achieve as president. As to not harp on one matter, he also touched on the topics of social security, immigration, the housing market, and Obamacare.

After his speech, he engaged the listeners and was happy to answer or respond to any questions, comments, or "complaints".

With the primary less than a week away, there was a Debate Watch Party at 8 P.M. so we hot-tailed it out of the speech and made it to the debate watch in time!  There wasn't as large of a turn out as the last event. Personally, I thought was great ... we could actually hear the debate this time.

Until Next Time.. I bid you adieu

Diving In...

T Minus 7 days until prelims.   To date I have attended 2 events; the SC debate party at TGI Fridays and Governor Romney's speech this morning.  Last night I spent the majority of the time chatting with my fellow interns and mingling with Romney supporters.

This mornings speech went as expected: He came, he spoke of the economy, asked the present supporters for their support, interfaced with the crowd and left.  We heard one gentleman say he would vote Romney if he would sign a baseball.  Similarly, it was encouraging to hear one gentleman say he was still undecided on his candidate and was torn between Gingrich and Romney but was swayed to Romney because Romney spoke with the supporters after the speech where as Newt left immediately.

A main goal was to get a photo with Governor Romney and we definitely accomplished that!
